Grammy award-winning Contemporary Christian group Casting Crowns is returning to Salem on March 10, 2022, to perform all the band’s hits and some brand-new music from the album – “Healer” – which will be released in January. Casting Crowns has been one the arena’s most popular acts in recent years entertaining appreciative crowds in Virginia’s Blue Ridge in 2014 and 2019. For the 2022 show, the band is partnering with Compassion International and bringing artists We Are Messengers and Jonathan Traylor along with it on the tour. Tickets for the Healer Tour show go on sale Friday, December 17 at 10 a.m.
When the world shut down due to the pandemic, Casting Crowns front man and songwriter, Mark Hall, knew he needed to write for the moment, write from the heart and share his straightforward thoughts.
“I was walking through the world being shut down, just like everybody else,” says Hall. “I’ve been a youth pastor for over 20 years and here I was counseling teenagers who’d just lost their senior year, lost their friend groups, felt hopeless for the future. As I started working on this record, I realized all the songs I was writing dealt with healing in some way, something we all need. And more than that, we need a Healer.”
Leading up to the new album’s official release, Casting Crowns already has delivered a handful of tracks to its fans, including the powerful “The Power of the Cross” and “Scars in Heaven” - which broke the first-day streaming record for a Christian song debut on Amazon Music.
