The races start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 14. Participants will navigate Main Street, the Greenway, the Roanoke College campus, the YMCA and Taliaferro Complex, as well as various neighborhood streets.
STREETS AND TRAFFIC FLOW:
Drive Responsibly: Be aware, but MOST OF ALL, be patient. Runners will be on the road and additional traffic detours will be in place. Please yield to runners and listen to course marshals and police officers guiding traffic. PLEASE SHARE THE ROAD.
Park Responsibly: Please do not park along the course in areas that are marked “No Parking”. Some parking lanes will be off-limits on race day.
NO PARKING ZONES:
Signs for affected areas are posted on Tuesday, October 5. Areas affected include, but are not limited to, Main Street, Academy, High, N. Market, Boulevard, Colorado, Valleydale, Highfield, Green and any other posted areas.
MAJOR CLOSURES:
The main closures are Main Street (4th Street to College Ave) 5am-1pm, and Clay St, High St, Hawthorn Rd, N Market St, Red Ln, Academy St, parts of Broad St from 7:30am-9:00am and Colorado St (Boulevard to 4th) 7:30am-10:00am. Traffic traveling south on Thompson Memorial will be diverted east onto East Main Street from 7:30 AM to 11:00AM.
