Overview:

The goal of the City of Salem’s Communications Department is to ensure that the community is kept informed in a timely manner about current events, programs, and news.

The Communications Director is the official spokesperson for both the City government and the Salem City school system relating to inquiries from the media and other various sources.

This office also strives, through the use of print materials, the internet, and the city’s public access television station, to promote Salem's image as Virginia’s Championship City and its many outstanding qualities by raising the level of public awareness of City operations and accomplishments.
