As the newest annual event from FloydFest-producers Across-the-Way Productions, ‘The Big Chill: A FloydFest Ball’ takes over Salem Civic Center on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, warming up winter with a holiday vibe for the FloydFest tribe. Headlined by The Isley Brothers — who make a stop in Salem as part of their 60th Anniversary Tour — The Big Chill also includes sets from Turkuaz and Tony Camm & the Funk Allstars.
“In a world and time where partnerships are more important than ever, it brings me great joy to work with such a wonderful organization as the Salem Civic Center team,” said Kris Hodges, chief creative officer of Across-the-Way Productions and co-founder of FloydFest. “Our first production brings the heat of FloydFest this December with the inaugural Big Chill: A FloydFest Ball, and with it elements of the summer love of our flagship AtWP event. We specifically chose the love vibrations of the legendary band, The Isley Brothers, along with the sexy funk of Turkuaz and local favorites Tony Camm & the Funk Allstars.”
On Dec. 7, AtWP will deck the halls of Salem Civic Center to provide the exceptional vibe, production, music entertainment and experience that have become synonymous with the FloydFest brand.
“Music, magic and mirror balls will mix with friends, funk, food trucks and Fraser firs, libations and live music, as The Big Chill comes to life,” said Sam Calhoun, chief operating officer of Across-the-Way Productions. “Patrons can choose to attend in glitz and glamour, or duds for dancing — either way, it’s going to be a ball, as we celebrate winter, the holidays and the halfway point between FloydFest 19 and FloydFest 20.”
“We are thrilled to partner with the Across-the-Way Productions on this new venture,” said Wendy Delano, director of Salem Civic Center facilities. “People enjoy FloydFest so much during the summer, that it makes sense to give them an outlet during the winter where they can have fun, get good vibes and chill out with some fantastic music here in Salem. The possibilities with this partnership and show are endless!”
