This station is located in Downtown Salem, one block off of Main Street. Station 1 houses the command staff for all three Platoons (A,B,C). Each Platoon has a Battalion Chief, Fire Captain, and a Fire Medic. Station 1 also houses the most vehicles of the Salem Fire Department including Truck 1, Medic 801, Medic 804, Fire Medic 1 (EMS Response Vehicle) and Battalion 1 (Chief Response Vehicle). Truck 1 has firefighting capabilities along with a 105 ft. aerial ladder that allows the men and women to be able to access rooftops and flow water. Station 1 also contains our in-house training room for both Fire and EMS scenarios and classes. Located in front of the station is an iconic memorial of 9/11. This monument contains two beams from the North Tower 33-36th floor, a plaque, and an American Flag that remains either at full or half staff 24/7.
Salem Fire-EMS Station 2

Station 2 is located on the East side of Salem between Main Street and Apperson Drive. Vehicles located at Station 2 include Engine 2, Medic 802, HTR 2 (Technical Rescue Response Vehicle) Technical Rescue equipment and trailers and our Swift Water Rescue boats. Aside from fire suppression, Engine 2 has a wide variety of tools and equipment. The specialties for Engine 2 and its personnel include: Motor vehicle extrications and machinery/equipment entrapments.
The Technical Rescue Team is based out of this station. These individuals have training to deal with confined space incidents, high/low angle rescues, water emergencies (Swift Water Rescue), structural collapse events and trench collapses. The equipment needed to respond to these type of incidents are all housed here. All of our technical rescue sections are a part of the Virginia Division 6 team allowing the team to be deployed in various parts of the state for incidents. Salem Fire-EMS Station 3

Station 3 is located on the South side of Salem on Eddy Avenue near Riverside Drive. This is a single Engine / Medic Truck company that has numerous capabilities and specialties. Station 3 houses our Engine 3, Medic 803 and HazMat trailer/equipment. Many of our HazMat team members are highly trained personnel that are able to use various HazMat suits, Chlorine cylinder kits, patch kits, a spill trailer and a foam trailer, train derailments, propane tank ruptures and leaks, etc. The Salem Hazardous Materials team
is also a part of the Division 6 team allowing the team to be deployed in various parts of the state for incidents.
