Facilities

This station is located in Downtown Salem, one block off of Main Street. Station 1 houses the command staff for all three Platoons (A, B,C). Each Platoon has a Battalion Chief, Fire Captain, and Fire Medic. Station 1 also houses most vehicles of the Salem Fire Department including Truck 1, Medic 801, Medic 804, Fire Medic 1 (EMS Response Vehicle), and Battalion 1 (Chief Response Vehicle). Truck 1 has firefighting capabilities along with a 105 feet aerial ladder that allows the men and women to be able to access rooftops and flow water. Station 1 also contains our in-house training room for both Fire and EMS scenarios and classes. Located in front of the station is an iconic memorial of 9/11. This monument contains two beams from the North Tower 33-36th floor, a plaque, and an American Flag that remains either at full or half staff 24/7.
