CITY OF SALEM SOFT ENROLLMENT - OCTOBER 1, 2018 - DECEMBER 31, 2018 (SHORT PLAN YEAR)

As you are aware, the City is transitioning from an October 1 plan year to a January 1 plan year.  This transition begins January 1, 2019, and will allow for employees to better assess their calendar year deductibles and out of pocket maximums.  Because of this transition, we are required to provide you with a short enrollment period, as employees are allowed to make changes after 12 months have passed in a plan year.  The City will hold a brief enrollment period in order to allow employees the opportunity to make any changes as needed.   Please keep in mind, if you participate in Flexible spending accounts, and wish to continue to participate, you will be required to re-enroll into the plan of your choice during this short period.

Soft Enrollment begins on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

Enroll using Kronos: https://salemva.kronos.net/wfc/navigator/logon

The deadline for completing your enrollment is Friday, September 14, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

Changes will take effect on October 1, 2018 and be effective until December 31, 2018

If you participate in Flexible Spending you must re-enroll you elections for this time period!

Medical and Limited Medical FSA Max per pay period: $110.41

Dependent Care FSA Max: Election option must not exceed a total

contribution of $5000 per Calendar year.

(For example, if you only used $3,000 between 1/1/2018 – and 9/30/2018, then you could

elect up to $2,000 for the 10/1/2018-12/31/2018 short plan year.)
