For families who count on school breakfast and lunch, the summer isn't always fun and games. The months when schools are out can be stressful when family food budgets have to stretch even further. To help with this issue, meals at no cost are available to kids and teens ages 18-and-under at summer meals sites across Virginia including here in Salem!
Thanks to funds from the USDA, breakfast and lunch will be provided each day starting June 9. You do not need to apply and proof of income is not needed. Just show up and grab a meal.

• Lakeside Baptist Church - June 9 to August 1
(Breakfast 7:15 a.m. Lunch 10:15 a.m.)
• Oak Park Apartments - June 9 to August 1
(Breakfast/Lunch 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.)
• Riverwalk Apartments - June 9 to August 1
(Breakfast/Lunch 11:30 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.)
• Salem YMCA - June 9 - August 1
(Breakfast 7:30 a.m. Lunch 10:30 a.m.)
Meal Pickup Location:
• G.W. Carver Cafeteria - June 17 to July 25
(8:30 am to 12:30 pm)
PLEASE NOTE: all locations are closed June 19 and July 4 for the Juneteenth and 4th of July holidays.
